2 ch DVB-S/S2 Modulator v2.0 is a professional dual-channel satellite broadcast modulator designed for DVB-S/S2 headend systems, MVDS networks, RF uplinks and digital TV distribution platforms. It supports advanced constellations from QPSK and 8PSK up to 16APSK, enabling operators to deploy high-density satellite carriers with excellent spectral efficiency. With ASI inputs, independent per-channel configuration and a wide L-band output range of 950–2150 MHz, this modulator delivers stable and precise RF performance suitable for 24/7 operation in broadcast infrastructures.
The device supports symbol rates up to 44 Msym/s for QPSK/8PSK and up to 35 Msym/s for 16APSK, providing enough throughput for HD multiplexes or high-capacity transport streams. With MER >30 dB, the modulator ensures clean signal quality and robust demodulation under various RF conditions. Remote configuration via Ethernet allows full control of frequencies, constellations, symbol rates, roll-off factors and RF levels through a modern and user-friendly interface.
✅ High-performance dual DVB-S/S2 modulation in L-band
Each of the two independent channels can be configured with its own DVB-S/S2 parameters, allowing simultaneous transmission of separate carriers within the 950–2150 MHz band. This provides exceptional flexibility for uplink systems, headends and RF test laboratories. Operators can broadcast multiple signals using a single compact device while maintaining precise frequency planning and high modulation integrity.
✅ Advanced QPSK/8PSK/16APSK support for professional satellite networks
The modulator supports modulation schemes up to 16APSK, which significantly increases transmission capacity compared to standard QPSK/8PSK carriers. This makes the device suitable for MVDS distribution, contribution links, high-capacity satellite carriers and advanced DVB-S2-based architectures. With roll-off options of 0.20, 0.25 and 0.35, the system allows fine optimization of occupied bandwidth.
✅ High MER performance and RF stability for reliable broadcasting
With MER values exceeding 30 dB, the modulator ensures consistent and clean constellation formation, contributing to excellent reception quality on DVB-S/S2 demodulators. This level of precision is critical when deploying high-order constellations like 16APSK, which require accurate RF conditions. Stable output power of 80–100 dBµV and adjustable attenuation allow flawless integration into RF chains.
✅ Full Ethernet remote management and 24/7 operation reliability
The device is designed for round-the-clock operation with exceptionally high reliability. Remote control via Ethernet (RJ-45) allows operators to modify settings, monitor carrier health and apply changes without physical access to the unit. The modulator automatically restores all saved parameters after power loss, ensuring uninterrupted broadcast service and minimal downtime.
📌 Key features
-
Dual independent DVB-S/S2 modulation channels
Each channel operates independently, providing separate RF carriers with its own constellation, symbol rate, FEC and frequency settings. This allows operators to transmit two programs or multiplexes simultaneously, making the device ideal for headends that require multiple satellite carriers.
-
Wide 950–2150 MHz output range (L-band)
Supporting the full L-band range, the modulator integrates directly with upconverters, MVDS transmitters or satellite RF chains. This frequency flexibility enables deployment in a variety of broadcasting and distribution systems and helps align output frequencies to local RF planning requirements.
-
Supports QPSK, 8PSK and 16APSK constellations
The modulator features advanced DVB-S2 modulation options, including up to 16APSK for high-bitrate applications. This provides operators with the flexibility to upgrade network capacity without changing hardware infrastructure and improves spectral efficiency.
-
Symbol rates up to 44 Msym/s for high-capacity distribution
The maximum symbol rate of 44 Msym/s (35 Msym/s for 16APSK) allows transmission of large multiplexes or high-data-rate contribution signals. This makes the modulator suitable for demanding professional environments such as satellite uplinks or MVDS headends.
-
MER >30 dB for clean, high-quality RF output
The device achieves modulation error rates above 30 dB, ensuring stable performance and high-quality reception even in challenging RF conditions. High MER supports proper demodulation on consumer and professional DVB receivers and helps ensure flawless delivery of HD services.
⚙️ Main functions
-
Ethernet remote control with real-time management
Operators can fully control the modulator over Ethernet, adjusting RF parameters, symbol rates, constellations and roll-off factors through an intuitive interface. Real-time monitoring provides immediate feedback on output conditions and simplifies maintenance.
-
Automatic parameter recovery after power restoration
All operational settings are stored in non-volatile memory and automatically restored after a power outage. This ensures uninterrupted service without requiring manual reconfiguration and is especially valuable for remote headends or unmanned transmitter sites.
-
Manual RF power adjustment and integrated attenuation
The modulator includes precise output attenuation control, enabling operators to balance RF levels across downstream components. Adjustable power facilitates compatibility with amplifiers, upconverters and distribution networks while protecting downstream equipment from signal overload.
-
Full electrical protection
The power system includes built-in protection against over-voltage, over-load and short-circuit conditions. This increases operational reliability and helps prevent hardware damage caused by improper installation or power fluctuations.
