The X-band Upconverter 7.9-8.4 GHz is intended for satellite uplinks in the X-band, the frequency range traditionally reserved for government and military satellite communications. It converts 950-1450 MHz IF signals to 7.9-8.4 GHz with a 6.95 GHz local oscillator locked to an external 10 MHz reference.
X-band networks often require compact, reliable equipment for fixed earth stations and shelters. The converter provides a minimum P1dB of 10 dBm and 5-30 dB gain, consumes less than 9 W from 10-24 VDC and is housed in a 115x120x38 mm IP54 indoor enclosure weighing up to 0.95 kg.

The X-band Upconverter 7.9-8.4 GHz is a compact upconverter/BUC for X-band satellite uplinks. It shifts 950-1450 MHz IF signals from a satellite modem to the 7.9-8.4 GHz uplink band using a 6.95 GHz local oscillator locked to an external 10 MHz reference.
X-band is primarily used by government and military satellite networks, where links must remain dependable under demanding conditions. The converter supports these networks with a minimum P1dB of 10 dBm, 5-30 dB gain, ±1 dB full-band flatness and ±0.4 dB flatness over 40 MHz.
Specified performance includes IMD3 -30 dBc max, spurious -60 dBc max @P1dB and LO leakage -75 dBm without signal, with operation from -40°C to +60°C. N-type input and N-type female output connect directly to the modem and the X-band power amplifier.
✅ Built for X-band government satcom
The 7.9-8.4 GHz output range matches the X-band uplink used by government and military satellite systems.
✅ Wide operating temperature
Operating temperature from -40°C to +60°C and storage from -40°C to +95°C suit shelters and equipment rooms with wide temperature swings.
✅ Reference-locked 6.95 GHz LO
The 6950 MHz local oscillator follows the external 10 MHz reference; phase noise is specified from -35 dBc/Hz @10 Hz to -105 dBc/Hz @1 MHz.
🛠️ For government X-band earth stations, defence communication hubs or X-band teleport uplinks, the X-band Upconverter 7.9-8.4 GHz provides a compact, reference-locked conversion stage.
