The Lower Ku-band Upconverter 12.75-13.25 GHz addresses the 12.75-13.25 GHz uplink band allotted to the fixed-satellite service under the Appendix 30B plan of the ITU Radio Regulations. It converts 950-1450 MHz IF signals using an 11.8 GHz local oscillator locked to an external 10 MHz reference.

This planned band is used by regional and national satellite systems operating outside the conventional 14.0-14.5 GHz Ku-band uplink. The converter offers a minimum P1dB of 10 dBm and 5-30 dB gain in a 115x120x38 mm IP54 indoor enclosure (max 0.95 kg) powered from 10-24 VDC at under 9 W.

The Lower Ku-band Upconverter 12.75-13.25 GHz is a compact upconverter/BUC for the planned Ku-band FSS uplink. It translates 950-1450 MHz IF signals to 12.75-13.25 GHz with an 11.8 GHz local oscillator locked to an external 10 MHz reference.

The 12.75-13.25 GHz band belongs to the ITU Appendix 30B planned FSS allotments, which give countries guaranteed access to orbit and spectrum resources. Earth stations working with these national and regional systems need a converter dedicated to this segment rather than to the standard Ku-band uplink.

The unit delivers a minimum P1dB of 10 dBm, 5-30 dB gain, ±1 dB full-band flatness and ±0.4 dB over 40 MHz, with IMD3 -30 dBc max, spurious -60 dBc max @P1dB and LO leakage -75 dBm. N-type input and N-type female output simplify connection to modems and power amplifiers.

✅ Dedicated to the 12.75-13.25 GHz planned band

The converter is tailored to the lower Ku-band FSS uplink defined in the ITU Appendix 30B plan.

✅ Single 11.8 GHz LO

A single 11800 MHz local oscillator maps the 950-1450 MHz IF directly onto 12.75-13.25 GHz, locked to the external 10 MHz reference.

✅ Compact and energy-efficient

115x120x38 mm, max 0.95 kg, 10-24 VDC supply and power consumption below 9 W make the IP54 indoor unit easy to fit into existing racks.
🛠️ For national satellite systems, regional teleports or VSAT networks using the planned Ku-band, the Lower Ku-band Upconverter 12.75-13.25 GHz provides a ready-to-integrate uplink conversion stage.
