Wide 70–865 MHz RF output for VHF/UHF and CATV bands

With an RF output spanning from 70 MHz up to 865 MHz, the DVB-T Modulator can be used for terrestrial DVB-T broadcasting, private UHF networks and cable TV distribution. This range covers typical DVB-T/T2 channels and CATV operating bands, making the device ideal for multi-purpose deployments. Fine-tuned frequency allocation allows precise positioning of DVB-T carriers within existing RF grids.

High MER performance for clean COFDM DVB-T waveforms

The MER >40 dB ensures excellent modulation quality for DVB-T networks, minimizing errors and improving reception stability. This high MER is particularly important when operating in noisy RF environments or long distribution networks. It provides enough margin for multi-device cascades, splitters and amplifiers without compromising service quality.

Scalable multi-channel DVB-T / DVB-T2 headend architecture

The DVB-T Modulator can be produced with 1 to 32 independent DVB-T modulation channels, each configured with its own frequency and QAM settings. This multi-channel capability enables dense headends where many DVB-T/T2 multiplexes are generated in one rack unit. It reduces hardware footprint and simplifies cabling for operators expanding their digital TV services.

🛠️ The DVB-T Modulator is fully controllable via Ethernet (RJ-45) with dedicated VCC software, enabling remote configuration of frequency, bandwidth, QAM constellation and RF level. This makes it easy to integrate into modern IP-managed headends and NMS platforms. All critical parameters are stored in non-volatile memory, ensuring automatic recovery after power interruptions.

🛒 This DVB-T / DVB-T2 RF modulator is ideal for national and regional broadcasters, cable TV operators, ISPs, hotel TV systems and campus networks that need robust DVB-T modulation. With a wide RF range, high MER, scalable channel count and optional synchronization features, it provides a flexible and future-proof solution for terrestrial and cable digital TV distribution.

📌 Key features

  • DVB-T / DVB-T2 QAM modulation from QPSK to 64-QAM

The modulator supports a full range of constellations used in DVB-T networks, including robust QPSK for difficult coverage and 64-QAM for high-capacity multiplexes. This allows operators to adapt each carrier to terrain, reception conditions and service requirements. It ensures compatibility with DVB-T set-top boxes and integrated DVB-T/T2 televisions.

  • 70–865 MHz RF output for terrestrial and cable bands

The broad RF output range covers standard UHF/VHF channels used in DVB-T broadcasting and intermediate bands used in cable networks. Operators can place DVB-T multiplexes at optimal frequencies to fit existing channels and avoid interference. This flexibility simplifies integration into complex RF infrastructures.

  • High MER (>40 dB) for stable DVB-T performance

With MER above 40 dB, the DVB-T Modulator produces very clean COFDM waveforms, reducing bit errors and improving overall reception quality. This is critical for delivering HD content and supporting multi-path propagation environments. High MER also adds robustness when cascaded with amplifiers and combiners.

  • Configurable 1–32 DVB-T modulation channels per chassis

The device can be delivered as a simple single-channel DVB-T modulator or as a dense multi-channel platform for larger headends. Each channel operates independently, enabling operators to expand service capacity without replacing core hardware. This multi-channel capability is particularly attractive for cable and IPTV operators.

  • Optional 10 MHz reference input and 24 V DC injection

Optional synchronization through a 10 MHz reference allows precise alignment with other RF equipment in large DVB-T/T2 networks. The 24 V DC injection option lets the modulator power external BUCs or amplifiers directly over the RF cable, simplifying system design and power distribution.

  • Robust RF output power of 80–107 dBµV with N/F/SMA connectors

The DVB-T Modulator delivers strong RF output that can be tuned to match different network loads. With support for N-type, F-type or SMA connectors, it adapts to a variety of professional and semi-professional installations. This ensures stable integration into RF racks, test setups and distribution systems.

⚙️ Main functions

  • Ethernet remote management and monitoring

All DVB-T modulation parameters can be configured remotely using Ethernet and VCC software, including frequency, bandwidth, QAM mode and RF level. This allows centralized management of multiple sites and quick reconfiguration of services. It also supports integration with network monitoring platforms.

  • Automatic configuration restore after power loss

The modulator stores its configuration in non-volatile memory, so after any power interruption it automatically resumes broadcasting with previous settings. This is crucial for 24/7 DVB-T headends, where manual intervention is undesirable or impossible. It improves network resilience and uptime.

  • Integrated power-stage protections

The DVB-T Modulator includes over-voltage, overload and short-circuit protection on its power stages. This prevents damage due to wiring errors, transient disturbances or faulty external components. It significantly extends the lifetime of the system and ensures safe operation.

  • Flexible DVB-T bandwidths of 5, 6, 7 and 8 MHz

Support for multiple bandwidths allows using the modulator across different regulatory regions and DVB-T deployment standards. Operators can optimize spectral efficiency by choosing exactly the bandwidth required for their multiplex. This is especially useful in multi-country or cross-standard networks.
